KEEN TO BE A BETTER ANGLER?

REFRESH YOUR FIRST STEPS TO FLY FISHING - INTRODUCTORY FLY FISHING COURSE

SUNDAY 13 October 2019 from 09:00 to 16:00

Nelson/Marlborough Fish & Game Rooms , Champion Rd.

With the use of videos and interactive workshops Tony Entwistle and other

experienced club members will help you become a more successful angler,

with an introduction to the basic principles and practises of fly fishing for trout.

 Learn about the appropriate equipment to use and how, where

and when to use it.

 Develop an understanding of the habits of trout, the insects they

feed on and the habitats of both.

 Learn basic stream-craft theory.

 Learn the knots, rigs and fly fishing techniques that help exploit

this knowledge to enable trout to be caught more consistently.

 Understand the principles of safe trout handling and the

conservation ethic of Catch-and-Release.

 Subsequent to this course the Club will run a program for members

wanting to be mentored on the water, by a senior Club member.

Open to Club Members for $30.00.

Proceeds to the Sports Fishing for Youth Trust

Equipment will be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring and use

their own rods, reels and lines for the casting session.

The course is limited to ten participants - there is just the one course this year so first in first served.
