Minutes of the committee meeting 13 th August 2024 - THE NELSON TROUT FISHING CLUB

At Fish and Game rooms Champion Rd, Richmond

Kevin opened the meeting at 6.57pm welcoming members to the meeting.

Previous minutes:

Minutes of the March meeting, as previously circulated, subject to the following corrections:-

Mark Jowsey was listed at present, plus as an apology, corrected to present.

James Macdonald’s name changed to correct spelling

Don Clementson listed twice as present.

Treasurers Report

Chris presented his written report, advised that to date only 12 members have renewed their

subscriptions.

Requested that a broadcast email be sent advising that the subscriptions are now due.

Also recommended that a cutoff date of 1 st October for non-financial members.

Question was asked if an automated reply can be sent to new members acknowledging their

membership, plus welcoming then to the club, and to existing members acknowledgment of

their sub being paid.

To be discussed with the webmaster.

Chris advised that Cam would produce a listing of the items to be auctioned, which will be

emailed to members prior to the auction.

Members to be encouraged to pay by electronic banking at the auction, reduces the

workload and eases congestion after the event.

Moved that $500 be donated to the picnic table proposed for Mytton’s Corner on the

Moved that $500 be donated to Fish and Game Nelson Marlborough to purchase fish food

for the hatchery. Noting that this is a one-off transaction.

Correspondence

An email inviting submission on the Waimea Park River plan from the club received.

Dave volunteered to manage the submission on behalf of the club. Advised to liaise with

Fish and Game and Ian Kearney of the Children’s fish out trust.

Letter sent to the Tasman District Council, and Nelson City Council, on 17 th June, about lack

of parking on Champion Road.

determine what the options are.
